Knit Glove
I acquired raw wool from a sheering in Winter Park Wool Market in Colorado. I washed the wool and rendered the lanolin in the first wash with no soap. I made a hand lotion from the lanolin. I used soap in the second wash and dried the wool. I combed and using a drop spindle spun the wool into single ply yarn. I then carved my own knitting needles from wooden dowels and knit this glove. I did not use a pattern. It was a free style of knitting, but it worked out fairly well. I only got one complete glove done. I did get half of a second glove done and ran out of spun wool. I never spun anymore yarn so I only have this one completed knit glove. I may get back to working with raw wool again soon, but my first love is gloves and the only reason I made this in the first place. I made this in 1998.
